Many believe that it lowers blood pressure, while being beneficial to aid in kidney and liver function. Some believe that celery seed will assist in controlling dizziness and headaches. Celery also produces perspiration and therefore, is good for those wanting to lose weight. Celery seed has been found to help regulate the nervous system by producing a calming effect. Celery helps in diseases of chemical imbalance and acts as an antioxidant. Both stems and seeds have been reported to help balance acidity in the body. It has been used to treat arthritis in cases of complete crippling and severe malformation. In some cases, where the patient was full of arthritic spurs, the spurs were dissolved from the body in about nine months to a year. In this research, celery juice was the primary ingredient being administered to the patients mixed with freshly squeezed carrot juice.
